Easy Assembly
A true kit designed for simple welding
The 1200 × 1200 table uses precisely cut parts and various positioning systems that facilitate the placement of the top and the base.
Kit versions are delivered with holding clamps and threaded rods. These allow the elements to be pressed against each other, maintain the structure during tack welding, and limit movements related to welding.
1
Top positioning
The edges and reinforcements are positioned under the top thanks to the cuts, recesses, and marks provided during design.
2
Holding in place
Clamps and threaded rods allow the different parts to be pressed together and maintain a consistent assembly during tack welding.
3
Assembly of 4 legs with jigs
The supplied jigs fit the square tube to center the upper and lower plates of the four legs before tack welding and final welding.
4
Progressive welding
The top and base can then be tack welded and progressively welded, alternating zones to better control thermal deformations.
Controlled flatness: the assembly system allows the different parts to be pressed together before welding and to obtain a regular geometry. The final result also depends on respecting the tack welding order, the distribution of welds, and the control of heat input.
A guided base as well
Jigs provided to position the plates of the 4 legs
Guided assembly does not stop at the top. In the complete table as a weld-it-yourself kit version, specially cut jigs are also provided to facilitate the positioning of the plates on the four square tube legs, one at each corner of the table.
These jigs conform to the outer shape of the tube to center the plates, keep them in line with the leg, and simplify their tack welding before final welding.
Jig for the upper plate
A first jig allows the upper plate to be positioned and centered on the square tube. This plate is then used to bolt the leg under the table top.
Centered positioning on the tube
Plate held in line
Facilitated tack welding
Consistent assembly on all four legs
Jig for the lower plate
A second jig allows the lower plate to be positioned, located at the other end of the leg and intended to receive the caster.
Plate centering for caster
Alignment with the square tube
Simple tack welding before final welding
Cleaner and more homogeneous base
A kit designed to be truly assembled: the jigs save the customer from having to manually measure and mark the centering of each plate on all four legs.
A versatile square format
Why choose a 1200 × 1200 mm table?
A perfectly square top facilitates work all around the workpiece, with no preferred side. This format is particularly appreciated for parts that need to be turned, rotated, or approached from multiple angles during assembly.
With a surface area of 1.44 m², it offers a comfortable compromise between floor space and useful clamping surface.
Access on all four sides
The square format allows you to move around the table without having to reposition the workpiece depending on the working angle.
A balanced surface
1.44 m² of usable surface, sufficient for most common workshop assemblies.
Compact footprint
A format that easily fits into a modest or intermediate-sized workshop.
A versatile workstation
Suitable for both prototypes and single pieces as well as small production runs.
Rigidity is also visible underneath
A top supported by its four corners
The rigidity of the table does not only depend on the thickness of its top. It also relies on its peripheral edge, its internal spacers, and the distribution of its base.
In a square format, the 1200 × 1200 mm table rests on four square steel tube legs 60 × 60 mm, one at each corner, which is sufficient to ensure optimal stability without overloading the structure.
6 mm pickled steel top
150 mm peripheral edge
Internal spacers under the work surface
4 legs distributed at the four corners of the table
Square steel tube 60 × 60 mm, 3 mm thick
The source document mentioned "4 to 6 legs depending on configuration". For a square format of this size, 4 legs (one per corner) is the most technically coherent solution — to be confirmed with the workshop before publication if another choice has been made. The exact number of internal reinforcements also remains to be confirmed.

Finish
Raw pickled steel, unpainted
Raw steel may show differences in shade, handling marks, superficial marks or natural beginnings of oxidation. These characteristics are inherent to a raw metal product intended for workshop use.
Clamping system
Ø16 mm holes and 50 mm pitch
The upper surface and peripheral edges are perforated with 16 mm diameter holes, distributed at a regular 50 mm pitch.
This grid allows the use of various clamping accessories and multiplies the positioning points across the entire table.
Positioning parts
The regular grid allows stops, squares, and accessories to be placed at different locations on the table.
Holding before welding
Clamps, presses, and Ø16 mm pins allow elements to be held during inspection, tacking, and assembly.
Clamping on the side faces
The perforated 150 mm peripheral edge also allows work on all four sides of the table.
Creating repetitive setups
The repetition of holes facilitates the creation of jigs, reproducible positions, and small series.
Rigidity and versatility
A 150 mm peripheral edge
The peripheral edge forms a continuous belt on all four sides of the table. It contributes to the overall rigidity of the top and complements the internal structure.
Its 150 mm height also offers a side surface for clamping parts vertically or directly against the edge of the table.
Enhanced rigidity on all four sides
Clamping possible on side faces
Positioning of vertical parts
Holding at the edge of the work surface

Frequently asked questions
FAQ – Welding table 1200 × 1200 mm
What is the difference between the four configurations?
The kit top is delivered in parts to be welded. The welded top is assembled in our workshops, without a base. The complete kit table includes the top, 4 legs, plates, casters, and screws, but requires welding. The complete welded table is prepared in the workshop and only requires the bolted assembly of the elements provided for this purpose.
Why does this table have 4 legs and not 6 like the other models?
On a square format of 1200 × 1200 mm, one leg at each corner is sufficient to ensure good support distribution. Longer models in the range (2100 or 2400 mm) use 6 legs to compensate for their greater length.
What is the total surface area of the top?
The top measures 1200 × 1200 mm, for a total working surface of 1.44 m².
Is the top really 6 mm thick?
Yes. The top is made of 6 mm thick S235JR pickled steel.
What is the diameter of the holes?
The holes have a diameter of 16 mm and are distributed with a regular pitch of 50 mm.
What clamping accessories can be used?
The table is designed to accommodate accessories compatible with the Ø16 mm system: clamps, stops, squares, presses, pins, and other positioning elements. Check the exact dimensions of the accessories before purchase.
How to correctly position the plates on the 4 legs?
The complete kit table is delivered with positioning templates specially cut to fit the square tube of the legs. A first template centers the upper plate, intended to be bolted under the top. A second centers the lower plate, intended to receive the caster.
Why a 150 mm edge?
The 150 mm peripheral edge contributes to the rigidity of the structure and also allows parts to be clamped on the side faces.
Can the table be equipped with casters?
Yes. Ø155 mm industrial casters with double brakes are offered depending on the chosen configuration. Given the weight of the table, handling must always be done with caution.
Is the table delivered painted?
No. It is delivered in raw pickled steel. Regular protection and maintenance are recommended to limit the appearance of superficial oxidation.
Where is the table manufactured?
It is designed, cut, and manufactured by 4A Métal in our workshops in Romilly-sur-Seine, in Aube.
Is delivery possible throughout France?
Delivery can be arranged in France and several European countries. Conditions depend on the configuration, weight, volume, and destination address.
