Cut parts shipped flat — you fold, assemble, and weld at home.
Designed, tested, and cut in our workshop. Now it's up to you to give it shape.
37 parts. One color per part. One tabletop gorilla.
Each part of the kit is cut separately from a 1.5 mm steel sheet, then numbered and engraved (P01, P02...). In this overview, each color represents a distinct part — exactly what you will receive flat, ready to fold. The same visual also details our manual folding system (left panel).
37 laser-cut parts · numbered and engraved · 1.5 mm steel sheet.
Designed for manual folding
Each fold line is laser-prepared with a system of dotted fold lines that guide and facilitate folding by hand, without a press brake — see the method details (cutting, folding, assembly) in the visual just above.
This system is derived from our real-world workshop trials and has evolved through several prototypes to reduce complex folds and facilitate assembly.
Two PDF files provided with the kit
You don't just receive cut steel: each part is documented, including folding and assembly.
File 1
Folding file
One sheet per part: direction of the fold (towards you or away), suggested folding order, and identification of welds with neighboring parts — the details of the method are illustrated above. Everything you need to progress piece by piece without getting lost.
File 2
Assembly guide
Numbered views from all angles — see the overview above. Each part finds its exact position in the sculpture, and the areas using our positioning systems are identified so you can weld accurately on the first try.
These two files are provided only with the steel kit.

Frequently Asked Questions
Is a press brake required?
No. The fold lines are laser-prepared for folding by hand, using simple tools (pliers, mallet, locking pliers).
Do I need to know how to weld?
Yes. The parts are assembled by tacking then welding (MIG/MAG or TIG). This is a kit for a DIYer already comfortable with sheet metal and welding, not a beginner's kit.
Are the parts already folded upon delivery?
No, they are shipped flat, laser-cut with integrated fold lines. Folding is done at your location.
Is the DXF file included with the kit?
No, the kit contains the already-cut parts. The DXF file alone is sold separately for those who have their own laser cutter.
Are the folding and assembly files provided?
Yes, both are included with the kit: a piece-by-piece folding file and an assembly guide with numbered views.
Can I resell the Tabletop Gorilla once assembled?
Yes, you can assemble, exhibit, and resell the finished object. However, the provided PDF files remain for personal use (see our license below).
A simple license
You may assemble, exhibit, and resell the Tabletop Gorilla once assembled from the parts in this kit. The PDF files (folding and assembly) provided with the kit remain reserved for your personal use: you may not resell, share, or redistribute them. To manufacture and sell multiple Tabletop Gorillas, see the DXF file version below.
Already have your own laser or cutter? The Tabletop Gorilla also exists as a DXF plan only version, without the cut parts.
