We design. We cut. We fold. We assemble. Only then, we sell the file.

37 parts. One color per part. One tabletop gorilla.

The DXF file contains each part separately, designed for 1.5 mm steel sheet, then numbered and marked for engraving. In this overview, each color represents a distinct part — exactly what the file allows you to cut. The same visual also details our manual folding system (left panel).

Tabletop Gorilla — manual folding system and numbered part placement

37 parts to be laser cut · numbered and marked for engraving · designed for 1.5 mm steel sheet.

Designed for manual folding

Each fold line is planned in the file to be laser-cut with a system of fold lines that guides and facilitates folding by hand, without a press brake — see the method details (cutting, folding, assembly) in the visual just above.

This system is the result of our actual workshop trials and has evolved through several prototypes to reduce complex folds and facilitate assembly.

What the download contains

A ready-to-use cutting file, and the entire method for going from flat sheet metal to assembled sculpture.

File 1

DXF File

The 37 parts laid flat, ready to be imported into your laser cutting software (or entrusted to a service provider). Fold lines and numbering included.

Folder 2

Folding Folder

One sheet per part: fold direction (towards you or away), suggested folding order, and weld locations with neighboring parts — the method detail is illustrated above. Everything you need to progress part by part without getting lost.

Folder 3

Assembly Guide

Numbered views from all angles — see the overview above. Each part finds its exact position in the sculpture, and zones using our positioning systems are identified to weld perfectly on the first try.

Don't have a laser cutter? The Tabletop Gorilla also exists in a steel kit version, with parts already cut — see below.

Frequently Asked Questions

Is a press brake required?

No. The fold lines are prepared by laser to be folded by hand, using simple tools (pliers, mallet, locking pliers).

Do I need to know how to weld?

Yes. Parts are assembled by tacking then welding (MIG/MAG or TIG). This is a file for a handyman already comfortable with sheet metal and welding, not a beginner project.

Do I need a laser cutter to use this file?

Yes, the DXF file is to be cut by you (your machine or a service provider). If you don't have access to laser cutting, the Tabletop Gorilla also exists as a steel kit with parts already cut.

Are the cut parts included with the file?

No, only the cutting file. The already cut parts are sold separately in our steel kit.

Are the folding and assembly folders provided?

Yes, both are included with the file: a part-by-part folding folder and an assembly guide with numbered views.

Can I manufacture and sell multiple Tabletop Gorillas from this file?

Yes, the included license is a mass production license: you can manufacture and sell as many copies as you wish. You cannot resell or redistribute the file or the PDF folders themselves (see our license below).

A simple license

You can manufacture and sell as many Tabletop Gorillas as you wish from this file. You may never resell, share, or redistribute the DXF file or the provided PDF folders.
