A professional, extra-large welding table, designed for assembling frames, metal structures, gates, railings, large-format furniture, and demanding mechanical welding projects.

The 1200 × 2400 mm 4A Métal welding table is the largest model in our standard range. Its 6 mm S235JR pickled steel top, 150 mm peripheral edge, and Ø16 mm hole pattern with 50 mm center distance provide a vast working surface for positioning, holding, and assembling bulky parts.

Designed and manufactured in our workshops in Romilly-sur-Seine, Aube, it is primarily aimed at boilermakers, ironworkers, locksmiths, mechanical welding workshops, training centers, and companies that regularly carry out large-scale assemblies.

A true kit designed for methodical welding

A kit table is only useful if the parts can be positioned correctly before welding. The 1200 × 2400 mm table uses precisely cut parts and various positioning systems, facilitating the placement of the top, edges, reinforcements, and base.

The kit versions come with holding clamps and threaded rods. They allow the elements to be held firmly, maintaining the structure during tack welding and limiting movement due to welding.

Top positioning

The edges and reinforcements are positioned under the top thanks to the cuts, recesses, and marks provided during design.

Holding in place

Clamps and threaded rods allow the various parts to be held together and maintain a consistent assembly during tack welding.

Leg assembly with templates

The provided templates fit the square tubes to center the upper and lower plates before tack welding and final welding.

Progressive welding

The top and base can then be tack welded and then progressively welded, alternating zones to better control thermal deformations.

Controlled flatness: the assembly system allows the various parts to be held firmly before welding and to obtain a regular geometry. Given the 1200 × 2400 mm format, assembly must be carried out on a suitable, stable, and sufficiently flat support.

Templates provided for positioning leg plates

In the complete table kit for welding version, specially cut templates are provided to facilitate the positioning of the plates on the six square tube legs.

These templates match the outer shape of the tube to center the plates, keep them aligned with the leg, and simplify their tack welding before final welding.

Template for the upper plate

A first template allows positioning and centering the upper plate on the square tube. This plate is then used to bolt the leg under the table top.

A second template allows positioning the lower plate, located at the other end of the leg and intended to receive the caster.

A kit designed to be truly assembled: the templates eliminate the need to manually measure and mark the centering of each plate. They allow for reproducing the same positioning on all six legs.

When a workshop produces gates, frames, railings, mechanically welded structures, or large-dimension furniture, the available surface quickly becomes crucial.

The 1200 × 2400 mm format helps limit cantilevers, multiply clamping points, and keep more parts directly on the working surface.

The quality of a welding table is not limited to the number of visible holes on the top. It also depends on how the working surface is supported and stiffened underneath.

The 1200 × 2400 mm table features a reinforced internal structure and rests on six 60 × 60 mm square steel tube legs, distributed along the length to support the top and improve the overall stability of the assembly.

Clamping system

Ø16 mm holes and 50 mm center distance

The top surface and peripheral edges are perforated with 16 mm diameter holes, distributed at a regular 50 mm center distance.

This grid allows the use of various clamping accessories and multiplies positioning points across the entire table.

Positioning large parts

The regular grid allows stops, squares, and accessories to be placed at different locations along the 2.4 meters of length.

Holding before welding

Clamps, presses, and Ø16 mm pins allow elements to be held during inspection, tack welding, and assembly.

Clamping on the side faces

The 150 mm perforated peripheral edge also allows working on all four sides of the table.

The 1200 × 2400 mm welding table is developed and manufactured by 4A Métal in our workshops in Romilly-sur-Seine, in the Aube region.

Raw steel

Protection and maintenance of your table

The table is delivered in raw pickled steel. Like any unpainted steel, it can naturally oxidize upon contact with humidity, condensation, or water splashes.

To maintain a clean work surface, we recommend storing the table in a dry place, cleaning it regularly, and applying a protection compatible with welding work.

FAQ – 1200 × 2400 mm welding table

What is the difference between the four configurations?

The kit tabletop is delivered in parts to be welded. The welded tabletop is assembled in our workshops, without legs. The complete kit table includes the tabletop, legs, plates, castors, and hardware, but requires welding. The complete welded table is prepared in our workshops and only requires the bolted assembly as intended upon receipt.

What is the total surface area of the top?

The top measures 1200 × 2400 mm, for a total working surface of 2.88 m².

Is the top actually 6 mm thick?

Yes. The top is made of pickled S235JR steel with a thickness of 6 mm.

What is the diameter of the holes?

The holes have a diameter of 16 mm and are distributed at a regular spacing of 50 mm on the top and peripheral edges.

What clamping accessories can be used?

The table is designed to accommodate accessories compatible with the Ø16 mm system: clamps, stops, squares, presses, pins, and other positioning elements. Check the exact dimensions of accessories before purchase.

Why does the table have six legs?

The six legs provide better support distribution along the 2400 mm length and contribute to the overall stability of the table.

Why is the edge 150 mm?

The 150 mm peripheral edge contributes to the rigidity of the structure and also allows parts to be clamped on the side faces.

Can the table be fitted with castors?

Yes. Ø155 mm industrial castors with double brakes are offered depending on the chosen configuration. Given the size and weight of the table, handling must always be done with care.

Is the kit table difficult to weld?

The kit is intended for users who are properly equipped and proficient in the basics of welded assembly. The large format requires adequate support, methodical tacking, and good management of thermal distortions.

How to achieve good flatness during assembly?

You need to work on a stable and sufficiently flat surface, check the diagonals, clamp the parts with retaining systems, perform distributed tacking, then alternate welding areas. It is not recommended to fully weld one area before moving to the next.

How to correctly position the plates on the legs?

The complete kit table is supplied with positioning templates specially cut to fit the square tubes of the legs.

A first template allows centering the upper plate, intended to be bolted under the top. A second allows centering the lower plate, intended to receive the castor.

This system facilitates holding the plates in the axis of the tube during tacking and allows for a clean and regular base.

Are assembly templates included in all versions?

The plate positioning templates are supplied with the complete weld-it-yourself kit table version. They are not necessary for the complete welded version, as the legs and their plates are already prepared in our workshops.

Can several tables be connected together?

Yes. Several tables can be aligned and connected using suitable clamping systems. This allows for the temporary creation of an even longer or wider work surface.

Is the table delivered painted?

No. It is delivered in raw pickled steel. Regular protection and maintenance are recommended to limit the appearance of surface oxidation.

Where is the table manufactured?

It is designed, cut, and manufactured by 4A Métal in our workshops in Romilly-sur-Seine, in the Aube region.

Is delivery possible everywhere in France?

Delivery can be arranged in France and several European countries. Conditions depend on the configuration, weight, volume, and destination address.
