Designed, tested, and cut in our workshop. Now it's your turn to shape it.
A presence that fills the space
Two meters high, 1.43 m span from shoulder to shoulder, with an open jaw and a fist on the chest. The XXL Gorilla is built to be seen from afar: a garden, a lobby, a showroom, a restaurant terrace. Each facet catches the light differently depending on the time and angle.

3D visuals from the manufacturing model — rendering is not legally binding.
95 pieces. One color per piece. One gorilla.
Each piece of the kit is cut separately from a 1.5 mm steel sheet, then numbered. In this view, each color represents a distinct piece — exactly what you will receive flat, ready to fold. Down to the teeth: the fangs and teeth of each jaw are a separate folded piece, which fits into the open mouth.

95 laser-cut pieces · 201 folds according to the indicated angles · 302 welds to form the final sculpture · 1.5 mm steel sheet.
Designed for manual folding
Each fold line is prepared by laser with discontinuous micro-cuts, separated by small material bridges. The fold is guided and facilitated: you bring it to its angle by hand, using simple tools (pliers, mallet, locking pliers depending on the area), and you are the one who controls the final angle. On the large fold lines of the body, the cuts are longer, so there is less steel to fold.
This system is the result of our real-world workshop trials and has evolved through several prototypes to reduce complex folds and facilitate assembly.
01
Dotted fold lines
The 201 folds are traced by laser directly into the sheet. No press brake, no marking out: the line is already there, in the right place.
02
31 overlapping joints
In hidden areas, one piece has a small flap onto which its neighbor rests. It aligns itself before tack welding, and the joint remains invisible once the sculpture is closed.
03
10 positioning studs
Between the head and the body, studs fit into notches in the neighboring piece. The position is fixed before welding: you weld accurately on the first try.
Two PDF folders provided with the kit
You don't just receive cut steel: each piece is documented, including folding and assembly.
Folder 1
Folding guide
One sheet per piece: direction of each fold (towards you or away) and its angle, suggested folding order starting from the largest facet, identification of welds with neighboring pieces, overlaps, and studs. Everything to move forward piece by piece without getting lost.
Folder 2
Assembly guide
Numbered views from all angles (sides, top...) and piece-by-piece assembly order. Each piece finds its exact position in the sculpture, and the areas using our positioning systems are identified for accurate welding on the first try.
These two folders are provided only with the steel kit. The cutting file (DXF) is available separately, see below.

A masterpiece
At this scale, the gorilla no longer decorates a space: it defines it.
For outdoor use, provide a suitable finish (paint, varnish, or powder coating) and floor attachment.
What you need to do
- Fold each piece by hand, using the folding guide
- Position the pieces according to the assembly guide
- Tack and then weld each assembly
- Finish the surface according to the desired look (raw, painted, powder-coated...)
Equipment and skill level
- Pliers, mallet, and locking pliers — no press brake
- MIG/MAG (or TIG for finishing) welding machine
- Level: DIYer experienced in sheet metal work and welding
- XXL format (2 m high assembled) — provide a suitable workspace and help for handling
Frequently asked questions
Is a press brake required?
No. The fold lines are prepared by laser to be folded by hand, using simple tools (pliers, mallet, locking pliers).
Do I need to know how to weld?
Yes. The pieces are assembled by tacking and then welding (MIG/MAG or TIG). This is a kit for a DIYer already comfortable with sheet metal and welding, not a beginner's kit.
Are the pieces pre-folded at delivery?
No, they are shipped flat, laser-cut with integrated fold lines. Folding is done at your place.
Is the DXF file included with the kit?
No, the kit contains the already-cut pieces. The DXF file alone is sold separately for those who have their own laser cutter.
Are the folding and assembly folders provided?
Yes, both are included with the kit: a piece-by-piece folding folder and an assembly guide with numbered views.
Can I resell the XXL Gorilla once assembled?
Yes, you can assemble, exhibit, and resell the finished object. However, the provided PDF folders remain for personal use (see our license below).
A simple license
You can assemble, exhibit, and resell the XXL Gorilla once assembled from the pieces of this kit. The PDF folders (folding and assembly) provided with the kit remain reserved for your personal use: you cannot resell, share, or redistribute them. To manufacture and sell multiple XXL Gorillas, see the DXF file version below.
Do you already have your own laser or cutter? The XXL Gorilla is also available as a DXF plan only version, without the cut pieces.
